9:00 AM — Arrive at Koh Ker Temple Complex:
Explore Prasat Thom, the iconic 7-tiered pyramid temple — very different from Angkor Wat!
Visit surrounding temples like Prasat Pram (famous for trees growing over ruins), Prasat Neang Khmau, and Prasat Chen.
Feel the mystical, quiet atmosphere — this was once a royal capital!
Midday: Lunch Break
12:00 PM — Local lunch near Koh Ker
Simple countryside restaurant (Khmer-style meals: rice, grilled meat, soups).
Alternatively, bring a picnic box from Siem Reap if you prefer.
Afternoon: Beng Mealea Jungle Temple
1:00 PM — Depart Koh Ker for Beng Mealea (about 1 hour drive).
2:00 PM — Arrive at Beng Mealea Temple:
Explore the semi-collapsed "jungle temple," often compared to Ta Prohm but wilder and more atmospheric.
Walk along wooden platforms and also carefully wander through fallen stones and strangler trees.
Great spot for photography — mysterious and adventurous!
Evening: Return to Siem Reap
4:30 PM — Depart Beng Mealea for Siem Reap (about 1-hour drive).
5:30–6:00 PM — Arrive back at your hotel.
Optional: Chill at your hotel pool or enjoy a relaxing dinner at a nice place in town like Marum Restaurant.
