Sunrise at Angkor Wat – Arrive early (around 5 AM).
Explore the inner temples post-sunrise, avoiding later crowds.
Quick breakfast near Srah Srang or packed by your hotel.
Angkor Thom:
Bayon Temple – the one with the serene stone faces.
Baphuon, Terrace of the Elephants, and Leper King.
Afternoon
Ta Prohm Temple – Best in late afternoon light.
Giant roots and jungle overgrowth – a surreal scene.
Optional sunset at Pre Rup.
Overnight in Siem Reap
Day 2 – Off the Beaten Path: Banteay Srei & Countryside
Morning
Banteay Srei ("Citadel of Women") – famous for intricate pink sandstone carvings.
Leave early (~7:30 AM) to beat the heat and crowds.
From Banteay Srey, travel to Kulen Mountain Waterfall & 1000 Lingas
Visit the reclining Buddha, River of a Thousand Lingas, and Kulen Waterfall (bring swimwear). Lunch
Eat at local stalls near the falls or a picnic lunch.
Hike a bit, relax in nature.
Return to Siem Reap by late afternoon.
Evening (optional)
Catch an Apsara dance show with dinner in town.
Day 3 – Temple Adventure: Preah Khan & Beng Mealea
Morning pick up from hotel at 7.30am
Visit Preah Khan Temple – a peaceful, sprawling complex with beautiful mossy stones.
Often less crowded, full of photo ops.
Midday
Drive to Beng Mealea (~1.5 hrs from Siem Reap)
Wild, overgrown temple ruins – feels like Ta Prohm, but untouched.
Jungle walkways, collapsed towers, tree roots.
Picnic or stop in a roadside eatery on the way.
Return
Back to Siem Reap by sunset.
Day 4 – Tonle Sap Floating Village & Local Life
Morning
Visit Kampong Phluk or Kampong Kleang Floating Village on Tonle Sap Lake.
Boat tour through stilt houses, floating schools, and mangrove forest (in wet season).
Learn about the unique lake ecosystem and fishing communities.
Lunch
At a floating restaurant or return to town.
Afternoon
Free time for:
Massage/spa treatment
Market shopping (Old Market, Artisans Angkor)
Coffee near Pub Street
Visit Angkor National Museum (great wrap-up)
